The present administration of Bislig City under the governance of City Mayor Librado C. Navarro aims to embark a new journey for progress geared towards an Organic City of Bislig. As such, a two-day orientation seminar for organic agriculture was conducted at City Organic Agriculture Fisheries Complex (COAFC) situated at Sian, Bislig City last October 27-28, 2016. This was done in achieving Bislig City’s vision to become the model city for Organic Agriculture in the Philippines by 2020. Mr. Renfredo G. Camba, City Budget Officer and ICO-City Information Officer did the introduction message and explained further the City’s mission. It was attended by 4P’s Representative leaders, City Social Worker Development Staffs, City Cooperative members represented by Mr. Almar Autida and from different sectors.

The seminar introduced the best practices related to a responsible farming in organic ways. Participants were given the chance to experience the different methods in making an organic fertilizer by using organic materials like animal waste and rotten leaves from different kind of plants. In such manner, it minimizes the use of any chemical products that may harm the environment.

The significant endeavor will surely lead Bislig City to its highest peak of achievement that recognizes Organic Agriculture as a relevant factor towards economic growth and provides endless livelihood opportunities for boosting Bisliganons in a progressive community. In such ways, achieving organic Bislig City is now more reachable as it seems. Going Organic for a healthier Bislig City!
