The Local Government Unit of Bislig City (LGU-Bislig) through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) in collaboration with Bislig City Committee for the Welfare of Special Persons (BCCWSP) and Loving Presence Foundation Inc. (LPFI) upholds to promote volunteerism and awareness as they braced this year’s KAMPARAISO held on June 28-30, 2017 at Brother Miguel Center for Recollection Training, Forest Drive Village, Bislig City with the theme “Espesyal na Gugma Hasta Pag-amuma Para sa Espesyal na Iso Ipatagamtam ta”.
As such, the PDAO together with the concerned offices has listed a total of 51 differently-abled campers and 71 camp volunteers that would serve as their ates’ and kuyas’ all throughout the 3-day camping. The assigned volunteers have been oriented by the DepEd-Bislig City Division spearheaded by Ms. Josita B. Carmen with regards to what’s and how’s of handling children that are of special needs.
The camp was indeed a proof and a living manifestation that special people like them which is sometimes neglected and discriminated by the society has also the capabilities, talents and skills. They may have physical, mental and emotional differences but still they have a big heart that speaks more than what we have. This yearly program definitely paves the way to flip the people’s perspective into acceptance and respect towards this specially woven individuals.
Furthermore, the mayor congratulated all the winning teams and all the working committees for a very successful 3-day camping activity. He also gave thanks to the people who extended their money, time, and effort in lending their service and sharing their love and blessings to the special children of Bislig City.
