Another LIB sa Barangay Outreach Program was held successfully on July 11, 2016 at Barangay Mangagoy Gymnasium. LIB— Libreng Serbisyo Ihatod sa Barangay aims to bring the government closer to the people. It is a program of the Local Government Unit of Bislig headed by Mayor Librado C. Navarro that offers and provides free public service to meet among the needs of the people such as medical and dental check-up, legal assistance, job opportunities, and many others.
This requires all national agencies and offices to conduct periodic consultations with appropriate local government units, nongovernmental, and people’s organizations, and other concerned sectors of the community. There were local government unit offices which rendered their services. To name, these are the Office of Agriculture (CAO), Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), City Veterinary Office (CVO), and Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), City Nutrition Office (CNO), and the Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO). In addition, PhilHealth a local-based National Government Agency offered its services and assistance on medical insurances. City Health Office in coordination with the Red Cross initiated a Blood Letting service which was participated generously by 12 donors from different personalities. Releasing of medicines that was availed by 75 constituents, Libreng Gupit (Free Haircut), and Body Massage were also some of the services offered by the program. LIB sa Barangay program had served and benefited a total of 408 clients and this become a basis of sincere coordination shown by the Local Government Unit of Bislig City and National Government Agencies.
Bislig City Local Government had proven once again that in union there is strength. As the famous adage goes, “Public Office is a Public Trust” and that people are masters worthy to be served best.
