To become a model city for organic agriculture in the Philippines by 2020 is the vision by which the Local Government Unit of Bislig City upholds. For this reason, is the very purpose for the creation of Expanded Vision Aligned Circles in which EVAC 32 group is a part of. The strategic objective of EVAC 32 group is to increase profitability of existing economic enterprise by their PIG (PinakaImportanteng Gawain) which is to establish two (2) bagsakan pick-up points in two (2) pilot barangays. To achieve their goal, last October 9, 2016 was the launching of Bislig City’s Organic Bagsakan Center held at 8:00 AM, Poblacion Marketsite, Bislig City and at 9:30 AM, Mangagoy Marketsite, Bislig City. These two (2) barangays were the two (2) pilot areas selected in coordination with the City Agriculture Office and Office of the Strategic Management. The launching was organized by the EVAC 32 group with the ribbon cutting at Poblacion Marketsite led by the City Mayor represented by Dr. Antonio Teddy Ronquillo, Executive Assistant II and assisted by Hon. Apolio C. Alvar, Poblacion Barangay Captain, Ms. Primacar R. Subibi, City Agriculturist and Mr. Aprodecio A. Alba, Jr., OSM Manager. And for Mangagoy Marketsite, the ribbon cutting was headed by the City Mayor represented by Dr. Antonio Teddy Ronquillo, Executive Assistant II and assisted by Mangagoy Barangay Captain represented by Hon. Rosalina Sayawan, Barangay Kagawad, Ms. Primacar R. Subibi, City Agriculturist and Ms. Laine S. Elechicon, EVAC 32 Process Leader.
As scheduled, the agreed bagsakan day is every Sunday. All organic growers and farmers can deliver and display their organic agri-products for marketing on the scheduled day. In line with the City Mayor’s campaign for organic agriculture, let’s support the Organic Bagsakan Center. Let’s go green! Go organic! Go healthy! Go Bislig!
